'St. Nicholas' showed up for the evening meal at pur motherhouse, St Augustine Friary, in Pittsburgh. He left soon after his arrival, disappointed that, in spite of all the good friars we have there, no one left milk or cookies for him, An unintentional mistake, we promise . . .

Lawrenceville's Cookie Tour & Street Evangelization
On Saturday, December 13th, The Port and the Padre Pio Parish Evangelization Team were an official stop on the Lawrenceville Cookie Tour. Free hot cocoa and hundreds of dozens of cookies were given away with Christmas Joy. St. Nicholas once again made an appearance during his busiest time of the year, making his way along Butler Street with his assistant, our Capuchin brother and Parochial Assistant Paul Zaborowski, OFM Cap. They distributed "goodie bags" to the children and passed out invitations to join us in the parish for the Christmas celebrations. Our brother Ross Henley, OFM Cap., and carolers spread Christmas joy through song. Paul reported that "the parish had a table of giveaways and sacramentals for those stopping for cookies. Lots of meeting and greeting created a wonderful stop on the Tour."

On Friday evening, December 19th, young adults from The Port and the St. Padre Pio Parish Evangelization Team entertained the friars after dinner with the singing of Christmas carols. After the carols, everyone enjoyed some hot chocolate and cookies - and there was none left for Santa (see above!).
